This saves the gift donor time and effort required to select a regular gift and gives the gift recipient the flexibility to use the card to purchase whatever gift they prefer.
Gift card issuers can also use gift cards as an innovative way to issue refunds and store credit as well as benefit from non-redeemed balances and purchases over and above the value of the gift card. Key CRM.COM Business Processes and Functions
- Customer purchases a gift card at the cashier / customer service desk in store or online.
- At the time of gift card purchase, the point of sale (POS) terminal communicates with the CRM.COM system to activate the gift card and top it up with the desired amount e.g. €50.
- When a customer presents the gift card as payment for a particular purchase, the POS terminal communicates with CRM.COM to retrieve gift card balance and charge it with the purchase amount.
- The transaction statement produced for the cardholder at the POS at the time of purchase details the transaction that took place.
- The cardholder can also log into their account online and review their card balance in real time.
