Third Party Development in CRM.COM Software

Third party developers have three ways to implement or integrate their applications in the CRM.COM Software application server environment.

The first approach is when a developer wants to extend the functionality of the validations and calculations performed on the web pages. The simplest way is for the third party developer to embed an extension Session Bean component into the applications EJB jar file. Alternatively the developer can create client extensions in java script or JSP using an extension mechanism provided by CRM.COM Software. This approach requires minimal knowledge transfer to be given to the developer. Usually two days development training is enough. However, some J2EE capable IDE (such as IBM Rational Software Development Platform) is required.

The second approach is when a third party application needs to be developed that consists of a client component and a business application component. Here the third party application requires not only a new user interface but also a more complex application workflow, which should be server sided. In such a case the developer has to learn both the client development methods and the business application development methods. Usually three to four days of development training is enough.

The third and most complex approach is when the third party developer wants to use all the development tools available including the dataset designer tool. This is the case where additional information is needed from the database that is not available through the CRM.COM Software hub services. The required development training is ten days in this case.
